I struggled with this for many years also. I bought those workout DVD sets, hoping I’d end up looking like the beautiful, fit woman on the cover. One week I’d try a raw vegan cleanse, then the week after I’d go Paleo, and on and on and on. I was fed up with such disappointing results. I still felt self-conscious at pool parties. When I sat down, I still had to pull my jeans over my kangaroo pouch (you know what I’m taking about). My quest to find THE solution to get rid of those stubborn pounds was exhausting.

I decided it was time to shift my views on dieting and my eating habits. I hit the books and discovered how our bodies really work. I invested in high-level mentors and the best training available. And it worked! With time, I could effortlessly lose the stubborn pounds that clung onto me for years and I finally felt confident in my body. I now know the secrets to REAL weight-loss no one talks about. What I want to share with you today has nothing to do with dieting or working out.

Before I dive into these secrets, I want to address that annoying voice inside your head that says, “I’ve tried everything, is losing weight really possible for me?” or “Losing weight is hard. I have to starve myself, eat boring foods and spend my life at the gym. There has to be an easier way!”

I’ve lived it myself and I can tell you with confidence: YES! It’s totally possible.

Here’s the thing: what the weight loss industry fails to tell you is that diets don’t work. A study done by the University of California discovered that up to 2/3 of dieters finish their diet with a higher weight than they had before. If you’re in these statistics, it’s not your fault! You were set up for failure. 

It’s normal for you to have doubts about another weight-loss alternative, but let me assure you, getting to your ideal weight is possible! It’s time to forget what you’ve been taught and to discover the secrets to long-lasting weight-loss. I’ve created a lifechanging webinar that is jam packed with must have information.

Ready to dive in? Here are 3 secrets to weight loss no one talks about…

 

1. CHILL-OUT!

Huh? Yes, I’m telling you that the first secret to weight loss is to schedule-in some down-time for relaxing, soul-nourishing activities.

Running from one task to the next and not taking time to relax is a big hurdle to weight-loss. Before, I didn’t appreciate what down-time could do for me. I thought: “Why take time to read and soak in the tub when I can tackle my never-ending to-do list?!” Turns out, taking that time is ESSENTIAL to your health, your well-being and your waistline.

Cortisol is a hormone secreted by your adrenal glands. It is produced in response to stress. What does cortisol have to do with your dress size?  

Chronically-elevated levels of cortisol will:

-Slow down your thyroid gland; this makes your metabolism slow down

-Raise your blood sugar; your insulin goes up and prevents your body from burning fat

-Cause cravings, which sabotage your weight loss efforts

-Create estrogen dominance; this primes your body to produce more fat cells and make you store fat around your stomach (more on this later).

Now you see! Lowering your cortisol level is a key determinant in your ability to lose weight. 

HOW TO LOWER YOUR CORTISOL

You can reduce your cortisol levels with nutrition, supplements and lifestyle changes. I will go over this in more detail in my webinar. However, a good place to start is to create space in your life to relax. I know that this is easier said than done in our high-paced modern world.

Here’s how you can get started today:

A) Write down a list of relaxing activities you enjoy. 

Keep that list handy and stay inspired. Take a few minutes to schedule in your down-time like any other appointment, and follow-through no matter what. Whether you have 5 minutes to do some Deep-Belly-Breaths or 30 minutes to do yoga, commit to something daily! Taking steps to consciously relax will change your life and shrink your waistline rapidly.

B) Create boundaries. 

This piece is HUGE! When we say yes when we want to say no, we become resentful. A good alternative is to tell people you’ll get back to them. When you’re alone, check in with yourself, see how you truly feel, then get back to them. By learning to say no when it counts, you will create more room for down-time and the things that matter to you most.

C) Ask for help. 

There is no honour in doing it all alone. Asking for help doesn’t mean you don’t have things under control. It doesn’t make you weak. Think of it this way, when your friend asks for help, are you happy to be there for her? Totally! It goes both ways. Ask for the help you need so you can have some downtime.

 

 

2. DITCH YOUR MAC MAKEUP

Did you just clutch your makeup bag close to your heart as you read that? I love my makeup just as much as the next girl. But you know what I don’t love? That my makeup and products kept me fat.

Conventional makeup and products are LOADED with chemicals and “endocrine disrupters” that mess with your hormones. These nasty toxins get absorbed into your skin and straight into your bloodstream. Gross, right? 

Your liver is responsible for over 500 functions in your body, including crucial tasks such as metabolizing fats and managing hormone levels. Instead of performing these functions optimally to help with weight-loss, it must worry about clearing out the numerous toxins from your body. Talk about a distraction!

3. STOP THE VICIOUS ESTROGEN CYCLE

Estrogen is an extremely important hormone in your body. It’s what gives you your lovely feminine curves and it plays a role in your menstrual cycle, as well as other metabolic processes. 

BUT too much estrogen can be detrimental. It tells your body to retain fat around your waist, thighs, butt and top of the arms. Not exactly what you’re looking for, right?

On top of that, fat cells produce estrogen. Which means that the more fat cells you have, the more estrogen you release. The more estrogen you release, the more your fat cells grow.

You need to break this vicious cycle to lose weight!

Here’s what you can do today to break this cycle:

A. Eat “cruciferous” veggies like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussel sprouts, kohlrabi and bok-choy. They have special compounds that encourage the metabolism of excess estrogen.

B. Ditch your conventional beauty products. The toxins found in these contain xenoestrogens, compounds that mimic estrogen in your body. You don’t need more of that!

C. Don’t store your food and drinks in plastic. These also contain xenoestrogens!

D. Get those bowels movin’! Estrogen that isn’t released from the body regularly gets reabsorbed.
