4 Steps To Keep Ravenous Cravings At Bay

One of the major road blocks when is comes to losing weight is having relentless cravings.

So many of us start the day eating super clean and then come 3pm, images of chocolaty brownies and chewy cookies imprint themselves in our minds. Next thing we know, we’re in line to grab a few cookies and our good intentions go out the window!

Do you know what I’m talking about? Do you ever deal with cravings that totally sabotage your weight loss efforts?

If so, you’re not alone and there are 4 easy steps you can implement TODAY to stop cravings right in their tracks.

1. Eat Enough Food

Your body needs nutrients and if you don’t give it enough food, your brain is going to ring the alarm. This will result in you reaching for carbs, sugar and fat!

So don’t try to restrict your calorie intake or push through your hunger. Eat whole foods when you are hungry.

2. Balance Your Blood Sugar

Balancing your blood sugar is easy to do! All you need to do is to make sure all your meals and snacks contain healthy fat, protein and fiber.

Every 3-4 hours, eat in a way that combines this fabulous trio and you will avoid cravings while keeping your body in fat-burning mode.

3. Manage Your Stress

When you get stressed, your cortisol, your stress hormone, goes up and tells your liver to pump out sugar. It does this because your body thinks it’s in danger and that you need the sugar as fuel to escape that perceived danger.

Most of us don’t get the opportunity to burn off that sugar because our stress usually happens in sedentary situations. Think when you’re late and stuck in traffic or when you’re racing to meet a deadline for example. Since you’re not moving your body and aren’t using that sugar, your body will pump out insulin to remove the sugar from your blood. This will make your blood sugar dip and when that happens – you lose ALL control of your appetite!

4. Take A TSP Of Apple Cider Vinegar

You heard me! When all else fails, take a tsp of apple cider vinegar straight in your mouth when you feel a craving coming on. This will cancel out your craving.
